The Board of Control for Cricket in India has officially announced the full schedule for the Indian Premier League 2026, confirming key fixtures, including the much-anticipated clashes between Mumbai Indians and the Chennai Super Kings. The 19th edition of the tournament will begin on March 28 and run until May 31, featuring a total of 74 matches across multiple venues in India.
The schedule has been released in phases, with the second phase set to be played from April 13 to May 24. This phase will include eight double-headers, adding intensity to the tournament calendar as teams push for playoff qualification. The league stage will conclude on May 24, after which the top four teams will advance to the playoffs. The opening fixtures see early high-profile matchups, while traditional rivalries like MI vs CSK are spread across the tournament to maintain fan engagement. Each of the 10 teams will play 14 matches in a home-and-away format, ensuring a balanced competition structure before the knockout stage begins.
The announcement brings clarity after scheduling adjustments due to logistical factors, including elections, which led to a split-phase calendar. With venues and fixtures now confirmed, teams, broadcasters and fans can gear up for a packed season featuring afternoon and evening matches, including multiple double-header days.
